Barbara Lewis
Oct. 19, 1962 — Nov. 15, 2017
Barbara Ann Keating Lewis, 55, of Ironton, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at the King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Oct. 19, 1962, a daughter of the late James Henry Keating and Eloise Kelley Keating Webb.
Barbara was a 1981 graduate of Rock Hill High School and studied nursing at the Lawrence County Joint Vocational School. She was a member of the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Ironton. Barbara was a former nurse at the Lawrence County General Hospital but her most important role was that of being a homemaker.
Barbara enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and her two dogs, Noir and Spud. Barbara was one of a kind. She made a huge impact on so many lives and will be missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Cailyn Lewis; and a sister, Cecilia Keating Cole.
She is survived by two sons, Joseph L. (Kathy J.) Lewis Jr. and Thomas G. (Jessica Waddell) Lewis, all of Ironton; a daughter, LaToya N. Lewis, of Ironton; seven grandchildren, Bryson Lewis, Ameria Lewis, Tyson Lewis, Ellie Friend, Tyler Cremeans, Tayla Lewis and Jayde Lewis; and a brother, James Henry Keating Jr., of Springfield.
Mass of Christian Burial will be noon Monday at the St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church in Ironton with Father David Huffman officiating. Lisa Haney
July 27, 1968 — Nov. 16, 2017
Lisa Jane Haney, 49, of Ironton, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She was born July 27, 1968, in Ironton, a daughter of the late Virginia Abrams Cooper.
In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Justine Bare and Kelli Delawder; and a brother, Mike Cooper.
Survivors include her father, Walter (Lucy) Cooper; her husband, Taylor Lee Haney Jr.; three children, Brea Barnes, Stephanie Blevins and Amy Wheeler; three stepchildren, Taylor Lee Haney III, James Michael Haney and Michelle Baldridge; four sisters, Debbie (Ron) Rister, Dana Jenkins, Carrie Bernhardt and Lana Freeman; five brothers, Bill Cooper, Kenny (Tammy) Cooper, Eddie (Sarah) Cooper, Ryan Cooper and Rick Bare; and six grandchildren, Angel Blevins, David Blevins, Shayden Barnes, Jasmine Devore, Neveah Lewis and Easton Wheeler.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.
Walter Doyle
Walter L. Doyle, 92, of Westerville, formerly of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017. He retired after 25 years of service as a State Farm Insurance agent. He was a veteran who served with the Army Air Corps during World War II and the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a member of Warren Lodge #15 F&AM.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jean.
He is survived by children, Steven (Oralia) Doyle, of Reynoldsburg, Rick (Julie) Doyle, of Connersville, Indiana, and Diane (Nick) Volgares and Randy (Donna) Doyle, all of Westerville; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Moreland Funeral Home, Westerville, from 2-5 p.m. Sunday. A Masonic service will be 5 p.m. Sunday, and another service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Central College Presbyterian Church, Westerville. Entombment will be at Kingwood Memorial Park. Clarence Ferguson
Clarence Edward Ferguson, 81, of Chesapeake, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at home. He is survived by his wife, Roberta Ferguson.
Funeral service will be noon Monday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake. Burial will follow at Maynard Cemetery, Wayne, West Virginia. William Keaton
July 1, 1964 — Nov. 14, 2017
“Perk” William Gordon Keaton, 53, of Coal Grove, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2017. The Ironton native was born July 1, 1964, a son of David and Margaret Reynolds Perkins of Ironton.
William was a graduate of Ironton High School and a U.S. Army veteran. He was a deck hand for BWC for 19 years. He was a member of the Ironton Moose, VFW Post 8850 and enjoyed playing pool, fishing and liked to be around his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by an uncle, Dwayne Keaton.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Kala (Donnie Boothe) Keaton, of Ironton, and Kristal (Ellis Smith) Keaton, Shane Collins and Shawn Collins; his girlfriend, Marjorie Fyffe, of Coal Grove; his grandchildren, Colton Boothe, and Khalee, Kashton, and Logan, all of Ironton; and two sisters, Kimmy Dawn and Lisa.
