Model UN winners named

The model United Nations took place last week at Ohio University Southern, and featured participation from five Lawrence County school districts.

The Lawrence County Educational Service Center organizes the event and has released the list of students who took top honors.

The following students were named as outstanding delegates:

Dawson-Bryant:

• Andrew Fields and Daniel McMahan, representing Afghanistan.

Rock Hill:

• Sophie Mootz, Megan Wroblewski, representing Australia; Andrew Medinger, representing Germany; Karlie Fleeman, representing Somalia.
Symmes Valley
• Brea Belville, representing Barbuda; Haley Litteral, representing Israel; Lily Crum, representing South Sudan.

South Point:

• Nathan Lilly, representing Morocco.

The following students received the Outstanding Resolution award:

Dawson-Bryant:

• Andrew Fields, Garrett Dillion, Jaycee Jenkins, Zeke Cordle, Tyera Pemberton, Makayla Jordan and Daniel McMahan – representing Afghanistan

Rock Hill:

• Karlie Fleeman, Ellen Jane Heaberlin, Gavin Haskins and Isaiah Kelly – representing Somalia.

Symmes Valley:

• Brea Belville, representing Barbuda

 

The following students received the Outstanding Country award:

Rock Hill:

• Sophie Mootz, Sydney Hairston, Megan Wroblewski and Jared Raynard – representing Australia; Karlie Fleeman, Ellen Jane Heaberlin, Gavin Haskins and Isaiah Kelly – representing Somalia.

Symmes Valley:

• Haley Litteral and Kristen Mannon  – representing Israel
