James Cline
Aug. 10, 1934 — Nov. 25, 2017
James F. Cline, 83, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Community Hospice in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Aug. 10, 1934, a son of the late Earl and Lorena Jones Cline. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Sylvia Stevens Cline, whom he married May 29, 1953.
Mr. Cline was a 1952 graduate of Rock Hill High School and was a member of the Grace Independent Baptist Church in Greenup, Kentucky. He was an employee for Dow Chemical for 26 years, retiring in 1995, and loved to fish, woodworking and The Ohio State Buckeyes sports.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Brittany Cline; a grandson, RJ Cline; and a special friend, his dog, Bear.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Ron (Mary Ellen) Cline, Randy (Stephanie) Cline and Rob (Angela) Cline, all of Franklin Furnace; a brother, Delano (Liz) Cline, of Wheelersburg; 11 grandchildren, Wesley Cline, Jimmy Cline, Brian Cline, Jennifer Payton, Jessica Minard, Tim Cline, Abbey Swayne, Hannah Cline, Nathan Cline, Rachael Cline, and Jared Cline; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Gary Arthurs and pastor Charles Green officiating. Burial will follow in Haverhill Cemetery and visitation will be from noon until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

William Sexton
William Russell Sexton, 59, of Coal Grove, died Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the Community Hospice Center in Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Martha Markins Sexton. Memorial service will be 5 p.m. Thursday at the Jae Roush Community Center in Coal Grove. Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Dan Singer
Dan Singer, 82, of South Point, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. He is survived by his wife, Tena Plybon Singer. Funeral service will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Bill Flannery officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Stephanie Jewell Black, 42, of Kenova, West Virginia, died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
