PEDRO — Rock Hill Redwomen coach Todd Knipp may see if he can get halftime waived.
The Redwomen held a 10-point halftime lead only to see the momentum shift in the third quarter as the Gallipolis Blue Angels rallied for a 53-50 Ohio Valley Conference win on Monday.
“We played a good first half and relaxed at the beginning of the third quarter. They were able to capitalize on the momentum shift,” said Redwomen coach Todd Knipp. “Missed layups and free throws caught up to us.”
The Redwomen (1-1, 0-1) were just 5-of-16 from the foul line.
Kyleigh Noel scored 18 points including four 3-pointers to lead Rock Hill. Maddie Scott and Makayla Scott added eight points each.
Alex Barnes scored 16 points, Hunter Copley 14 and Ashton Webb nine for Gallipolis (4-0, 1-0).
Rock Hill took a 14-6 first quarter lead as the Scott sisters combined for seven points and Noel hit a 3-pointer.
Noel drained another triple and scored seven points in the second quarter as Rock Hill built a 27-17 halftime cushion.
But the Redwomen managed only eight points in the third quarter while Barnes scored eight points, Rylee Sipple six and Maddy Petro four as the Blue Angels rallied to take a 38-35 lead.
The game went back-and-forth in the fourth quarter as each team scored 15 points.

Barnes scored five points as she and Copley each made a 3-pointer and the Blue Angels were able to converted 3-of-6 free throw attempts. Rock Hill was 0-of-3 from the line in the quarter.
