Lady Pointers roll past Tolsia

SOUTH POINT — The South Point Lady Pointers decided to take all the suspense out of this game.
The Lady Pointers jumped out to a 25-11 first quarter lead and led by 20 at the half as they beat the Tolsia Lady Rebels 63-33 on Monday.
Emilee Whitt led the Lady Pointers with 15 points, four assists and six steals. Leah Lawson had 13 points and four assists, Ashley Perkey grabbed eight rebounds and Maddy Khounlavong added four assists.
Mariah Finley and Sarah Jude scored eight points each for Tolsia (0-5).
Perkey scored all seven of her points in the first quarter while Lawson had five points including a 3-pointer as South Point raced to the 25-11 lead.
Whitt and Diamond Crawley hit 3-pointers in the second quarter as South Point extended its lead to 35-15 at the half.
The Lady Pointers (4-3) put the game out of reach in the third quarter as Whitt hit two more trifecta and scored nine points, Lawson had six points and Madison Kearns and Sydney Markel both hit 3-pointers as the lead grew to 56-27.
Pointers’ coach Dave Adams emptied the bench in the fourth quarter.
South Point will play at Lewis County, Ky., on Friday.
