Janet K. Bronson, 67, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte, Ashland, Kentucky. She was born Feb. 24, 1950 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Joseph and Lida Bailey Loar. She is survived by two daughters, Tina Reeves and Lisa Elswick; and one son, Paul Loar; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Private family funeral services will be held. Ruth Kinder

Nov. 4, 1929-Dec. 11, 2017

Ruth Kouns Kinder passed away at her home on Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, following an extended illness.
She was born Nov. 4, 1929, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Samuel and Mabel (Bruce) Kouns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmond Kinder Sr.
She graduated from South Point High School, attended Berea College and graduated from Marshall University. She taught school at South Point Elementary for 20 years.
She was a member of South Point Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten siblings.
She is survived by a daughter, Sara Kinder, of Chandler, Arizona; and son, Charles Elmond (CE) Kinder Jr., with whom she made her home; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Irene Moiel, of Texas; and many loving nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Ruth’s wishes, there will be no service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshall University Medical School or the American Cancer Society.

Ruth Malone

Ruth White Malone, 90, of Ironton, died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at the Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ruelie Malone.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh St., Ironton, with Pastor Matt O’Bryant and Mark Holderby officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
