LLOYD, Ky. — With the rain falling on Friday, you could almost hear that old Cascades’ song “Rhythm of the Falling Rain.”

Well, except for the Rock Hill Redwomen.

The Redwomen must not have been listening to the song after losing 56-38 to the Greenup County Lady Musketeers.

“We never got into an offensive rhythm,” said Redwomen coach Todd Knipp. “We committed too many turnovers and missed on multiple opportunities to score.”

Rock Hill (2-5) had three players in double figures as Lucy Simpson and Rileigh Morris scored 11 points each while Maddie Scott added 10 points.

Maggie Miller had a game-high 18 points and Grace Jackson added 10 points for Greenup County (3-6).

Greenup County took advantage of the foul line to convert 18-of-33 attempts.

The Redwomen — who were 6-of-12 at the line — had four players who finished the game with four fouls.

Greenup went up 15-10 in the first quarter as Miller got six points and Lauren Hannah added five more. Morris and Scott had four points each for Rock Hill.

The Redwomen only managed five points in the second quarter and fell behind 28-15 at the half. Gracie Haywood scored five points for Greenup.

Morris hit a 3-pointer and she and Simpson scored five points each in the third quarter but the Lady Musketeers had five different players score to go up 40-25.

Kyleigh Noel hit a trifecta and Scott scored four more points in the fourth quarter but Greenup was 6-of-12 at the line to preserve the outcome.
