WILLOW WOOD — It was a numbers game.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings took advantage of the St. Joseph Female Flyers’ six-man roster and posted a 39-26 win on Wednesday.
Jensyn Shepherd had 15 points and five rebounds to lead the Lady Vikings (6-4). Kaitlyn Crabtree had nine points and 12 rebounds.
Alyson Johnson scored 11 points and Ashley Bartram eight to pace the Female Flyers.
Crabtree had our points and Kaylee Cade hit a 3pointer as the Lady Vikings took a 9-6 first quarter lead.
Rachael Hayes scored four points in the second quarter and Symmes Valley was up 17-12 at the half.
The Lady Vikings got some breathing room in the third quarter as Shepherd scored nine points and the lead was 30-20.
Johnson scored four points in the quarter for St. Joseph.
Shepherd got four points and Crabtree three in the fourth quarter. Johnson was 3-of-4 from the line and Bartram had a basket for the Female Flyers.
On Thursday, Symmes Valley visits Portsmouth Notre Dame. St. Joseph hosts Rose Hill on Saturday.
