Ronald Riffe

Feb. 23, 1934 — Jan. 18, 2018

Ronald L. Riffe, 83, of Ironton, fell asleep awaiting resurrection (John 11:11) on Thursday, Jan. 18, 2018. He was born Feb. 23, 1934, in Boyd County, Kentucky, a son of the late Edward and Ruby Whitt Riffe. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patty A. Gilley Riffe.
Ronald was an over-the-road truck driver and retired in 1996 from Matlack in Ironton. He also served as an elder in the Ironton congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 32 years.
He is survived by his daughter, Rona (Dean) Hester, of South Point; two sons, Dennis (Wei) Riffe, of New Jersey, and Dale (Andrea) Riffe, of Louisa, Kentucky; a sister, Donna (Bernard) Newman, of Florida; six grandchildren, Shell Hester, Rhiannon Hester, Shannon (Gretchen) Hester, Tyler (Kelly) Hester, Jared Riffe and Matthan Riffe; and two great-grandchildren, Isabella Hester and Riley Ruth Hester. He will be missed by family, friends and a host of spiritual brothers and sisters.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Kingdon Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Ironton, with Brother Matthew Stallard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Homer Parsons Jr.

Homer James Parsons Jr., 76, of Russell, Kentucky, died Friday, Jan. 12, 2017, at the VA Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky.
There will be private family services. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, West Virginia. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements.
