MLK Celebration
Ohio University Southern will host its 26th annual celebration of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at 6:30 p.m. in Bowman Auditorium on the Ironton campus.
Roller Derby Recruitment
Poison Apples Roller Derby, Huntington’s flat-track roller derby team, is hosting an information session and recruitment night at Roll-A-Rama, 137 7th Avenue in Huntington, at 7 p.m. The event is open to anyone interested in learning more about roller derby, one of the fastest-growing sports in the world.
Lawrence Township Trustees Meeting
Lawrence Township Trustees will meet at 2:30 p.m. at Kitts Hill Fire Department.
VFW 6878 Ladies Auxiliary
VFW Post 6878 Proctorville Ladies Auxiliary will have a meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the Post home. All members are welcome.
Rock Hill BOE
Rock Hill Board of Education will have a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. to interview transportation director applicants and any other business the board considers necessary to transact.

Senior Dinner
The Sybene-Chesapeake Senior Center will host their annual “Our Day” dinner. This event usually takes place at First Baptist Church in Proctorville, but will be held at the center’s Chesapeake location this month, due to weather. Entertainment begins at 10:45 a.m., followed by food served before noon.

Elizabeth Township Trustees Meeting
Elizabeth Township Trustees has moved to their meeting to noon at the Elizabeth Township Fire Department.
4-H Recruitment Event
4-H is hosting a recruitment event from 1-3 p.m. at Collins Career Technical Center. All are invited to attend.
Windsor Township Trustees Meeting
The Windsor Township Trustees will meet at 7 a.m. at the township hall. The regular monthly meetings will be the second Saturday of each month at the township hall.

Chesapeake BOE
The Chesapeake school board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. in the middle school cafeteria, featuring a presentation from the Marsh and McLennan Agency.
Humane Society Meeting
The Lawrence County Humane Society will meet at 7 p.m. in the Ironton City Center for the election of officers. All members are encouraged to attend.

Wednesday

Ham and Beans Lunch/Dinner
St. Paul Lutheran Church and the Ironton Kiwanis Club is hosting its ham and beans lunch/dinner at St. Paul Lutheran Church at the corner of Center and Sixth streets in Ironton. Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Take out and delivery options are also available. To place your order, call 740-532-4727. A suggested donation is $6 per plate. Children under 2 eat free.

Feb. 1

IHS Class of 1948
The Ironton High School class of 1948 will meet for lunch at noon at Frisch’s Big Boy in Ironton. All class members and guests are invited.
