CHESAPEAKE — This K.D. wasn’t Kevin Durant, but she tried to do her best imitation of the NBA superstar.
Karli Davis scored a career-high 16 points that including three 3-point goals as the Chesapeake Lady Panthers beat the Symmes Valley Lady Vikings 50-37 on Wednesday.
Brooke Webb had 13 points, Natalee Hall eight and Maddie Ward seven in a balance offensive effort by the Lady Panthers (8-7).
Symmes Valley (8-6) was paced by Jensyn Shepherd with a game-high 21 points and she had nine rebounds. Kaitlyn Crabtree had 14 rebounds, Payton Hunter four assists and Taylor Sells two steals.
Chesapeake took a 12-7 first quarter lead as Ward had four points and Webb three. Shepherd hit a 3-pointer for the Lady Vikings.
Davis knocked down all three of her trifectas in the second quarter as she scored 12 points. Webb added five points and the Lady Panthers had a 31-19 halftime lead.
Shepherd scored six points in the quarter.
Shepherd had nine points and Sells hit a 3-pointer as the Lady Vikings cut the deficit to 44-33 at the end of the third quarter.
Hall scored six of her points and Webb added five in the quarter.
Both teams struggled to score in the fourth quarter as Chesapeake got six points and the Lady Vikings four.
On Thursday, Chesapeake hosts Portsmouth and Symmes Valley entertains Portsmouth Clay.
