Library has full program of events for coming weeks

SOUTH POINT — With the new year here and weather clearing up, the Briggs Lawrence Public Library has several activities scheduled at it branches throughout the county.

On Wednesday, the South Point branch hosted Preschool Story Time, a regular feature at the library, in which parents bring their young ones in for storytelling and a craft project.

On Thursday, the Chesapeake branch of the library will host preschoolers for the same activities, beginning at 11 a.m., followed by a session at the main branch in Ironton on Monday at 11 a.m.

That afternoon, the Proctorville library will host its regular “Briggsy’s Block Party,” giving children a chance to build with a large collection of LEGO bricks.

On Tuesday, the Proctorville branch will host Preschool Story Time at 11 a.m., while Toddler Time will take place in Ironton at the same time. That afternoon, the crochet club will meet at the library’s South Point branch at 2 p.m.

In coming weeks, the branches will host Valentine’s Day-related events, beginning with a card-making session at the Chesapeake branch on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 3:30 p.m.
