Todd Galloway

June 26, 1966 — Jan. 26, 2018

Todd Allen Galloway, 51, of Ashland, Ketucky, passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Todd was born June 26, 1966, in Huntington, West Virginia, a son of John W. and Mary Ann Prindle Galloway.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, W. Donald Galloway and Helen M. Galloway; maternal grandparents, William. D. Prindle and Martha M. Prindle; an uncle, Gerald R. Kirk; and father-in-law, J.P. Reed.
Todd was a graduate of Ohio University, a member of Ohio Concrete Futures Group, the Vice President and Partner of Big G, Inc., was a Christian and attended Bridges Christian Church, loved dirt track racing and was a racer and supporter of Portsmouth Raceway, and an athletic supporter for Russell High School.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Jennifer Lynn Reed
Galloway; his children, Andrea Allen, of Ashland, Kentucky, and J. Reed Galloway, of Ashland, Kentucky; a brother, James (Beth) Galloway, of Chesapeake; two nephews, Joseph Galloway, of Texas City, Texas, and John “Jack” Galloway, of Chesapeake; three nieces, Emily Brooke Galloway, of Charleston, South Carolina , Anna G. Galloway, of Chesapeake, and Caitlin Reed, of Nashville, Tennessee; aunt, Julia B. Kirk, of Dayton; two first cousins, Robert Kirk, of Dallas, Texas, and Phillip Kirk and families, of Springboro; mother-in-law, Sue Reed, of Ashland, Kentucky; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff (Kelly) Reed, of Georgetown, Kentucky; and lots of extended family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday at Bridges Christian Church, Russell, Kentucky, with pastors Pete Shaffer and Kevin Fraley officiating. Burial followed at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point.
Paulbearers included Reed Galloway, Bob Kirk, Jim Galloway, Jeff Reed, Phillip Kirk, Joseph Galloway, Evyian Terry, John Melvin and Jack Galloway. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

John Milem Jr.

John David Milem Jr., 58, of Pensacola, Florida, died Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at
Southern Oaks Care Center, Pensacola, Florida. He was born April 24, 1959, in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, a son of John David Milem Sr. and the late Marshalline McKee Milem.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his brother, Kirby Milem, of South Point. He was a graduate of South Point High School and was a member of the Class of 1977. He was a member of the 1970 state champion little league all-stars. He was an avid musician and guitar player.
Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Mitch Webb officiating.
Friends may visit from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Franklyn Haas

July 21, 1926 — Jan. 28, 2018

Franklyn Haas, 91, of Ironton, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018. The Coal Grove native was born on July 21, 1926, a son of the late Edward Haas and Anna Noble Haas. He is survived by a loving spouse, Delores Bayliss Haas, whom he married March 25, 1949.
Mr. Haas was a graduate of Ironton High School and the second oldest United States WWII Veteran in Lawrence County. He was a policeman in Greenfield, Ohio, and was a finish carpenter for Neighborgall Construction through local #4111, where he retired after 50 years of service.
Franklyn was a member of the VFW Post 8850, and loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also loved fishing and all sports, especially The Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State University football. He also loved gardening, particularly “black-eyed susans.”
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, John Franklyn Haas; and two brothers, James and Leonard Dickess.
In addition to his wife, Franklyn is survived by a daughter, Kathy McGinnis, of Ironton; a son, Thomas A. Hogan Haas, of Ironton; a granddaughter, Katlyn (Kyle) Barcroft, of Hilliard; and a grandson, Derek McGinnis, of Ironton.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.

 

Nancy Livingston

Jan. 2, 1944 — Jan. 28, 2018

Nancy Pettit Livingston, 74, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at Trinity Station, Flatwoods, Kentucky, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease/Lewy Body Dementia. She was born on Jan. 2, 1944, in Washington, Pennsylvania, to the late Ronald and Elizabeth Pettit.
After Nancy graduated from Trinity High School in Washington, Pennsylvania, she earned her BA degree in Business Administration from Marshall University. She worked at Gulf Chemical, H-Coal, and retired as a shift superintendent from South Point Ethanol. She was a licensed steam engineer in the state of Ohio.
An avid golfer, Nancy was a member of the Ironton Country Club for 30 years, where she served as an active member of the board. She was also actively involved with the Ladies 9-Hole League. Pursuing her love of history, Nancy was a docent for the Lawrence County Historical Museum, where she enjoyed hosting teas and participating in their annual cemetery walks.  She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
Nancy cherished traveling with her husband, family and friends. She looked forward to hosting cards and playing Bunko with her friends. Her great joy was watching her grandsons in their various school and sports endeavors.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks to Trinity Station Retirement Community, Flatwoods, Kentucky. In particular, they would like to thank the nurses and aides who worked in the Memory Care Unit and Extended Care.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Ronald Pettit, of Memphis, Tennessee.
Nancy is survived by her husband, George Livingston; daughter, Tracy Livingston Fultz (Bob Fultz), of Lexington, Kentucky; grandsons, Ian and Zac Fultz; sister, Judy Pettit Juergens, of Weston, Missouri; nephew, Commander Jeffrey Juergens and Gretchen Juergens, of Norfolk, Virginia (Garrett and Olivia); niece, Laura Juergens Davidson and Dr. Brent Davidson, of St Louis, Missouri (Kate, Jocelyn and Fletcher); sister, Peg Wilson (niece, Betsy Wilson), both of Temple, Texas; brother, Bob Pettit (Jean Pettit), of Missoula, Montana (nieces, Rebecca and Marie Pettit); sister, Susan Pettit Owens (Jimmy Owens), of Temple, Texas (nieces, Jeanese Ranly and Jodi Fields Livingston); nephew, Ronald G. Pettit, of Seattle, Washington; niece, Renee Pettit Morton, of Las Vegas, Nevada; niece, Amber Pettit Maughm, of Odessa, Texas; and many other beloved great-nieces, nephews, friends and co-workers.

Frederick Dunfee

Frederick G. Dunfee, 86, of Proctorville, died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2018, at River’s Bend Health Care, South Point. He is survived by his wife, Faye Dunfee.
