Johnson, Female Flyers cruise past Defenders

It wasn’t senior night, but don’t tell Alyson Johnson.
One of two seniors for the St. Joseph Female Flyers, Johnson scored a career-high 18 points in a 40-13 win over the Ohio Valley Christian Lady Defenders on Tuesday.
Fellow senior Ashley Bartram scored nine points in the win as the Female Flyers had seven of eight players scored.
Johnson scored four points as St. Joseph took an 8-0 lead in the first quarter.
The lead went to 21-2 at the half as Faith Mahlmeister scored all five of her points and Bartram scored three.
Johnson poured in 10 points and Bartram four in the third quarter as the Female Flyers built a 35-5 cushion.
Ohio Valley Christian was led by Emily Childers had seven points.
The Lady Defenders outscored St. Joseph 10-4 in the fourth quarter as Childers hit a 3-pointer and scored four points.
