Worn out Redmen battle in OVC loss at Portsmouth, 55-42

Due to the weather that forced makeup games, the Rock Hill Redmen played four games in five days. They finished the grind with a 55-42 Ohio Valley Conference loss to the Portsmouth Trojans on Saturday.
Rock Hill (1-15, 1-12) was led by Jaret Bacorn with 11 points and five rebounds. Kadin France had nine rebounds while Jake Blagg had seven points, three assists and two steals.
Daniel Jordan had 13 points, Reese Johnson 12 and Matthew Fraulini 11 to lead Portsmouth (10-5, 6-4).
Jordan scored eight points and Fraulini hit two 3-pointers and had seven points as the Trojans took a 17-12 first quarter lead. Bacorn had five points for Rock Hill.
D.J. Eley and Johnson each hit a 3-pointer and scored five points in the second quarter and it was 27-19 at the half. Cody Roberts had five points including a triple for the Redmen.
Rock Hill cut the deficit to 38-31 after three quarters as Blagg, Bacorn and France scored four points each.
But Johnson scored seven points and the Trojans were 9-of-14 from the foul line in the fourth quarter.
The two teams meet again at Portsmouth on Tuesday.
