Rether Marcum
Nov. 23, 1942 — Feb. 3, 2018
Rether Marcum, 75, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at his residence. The Kermit, West Virginia native was born Nov. 23, 1942, a son of the late Fred and Alice Rose Marcum.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wanetta “Rose” Hannah Marcum, whom he married on Jan. 15, 1961.
Mr. Marcum attended Kermit High School and was a former mechanic for the National Mine Service Company, retiring in 1982 after 22 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Mullins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hayden and Alberta Hannah; a brother-in-law, Mike Willis; a sister-in-law, Maxine Browning Marcum; and a niece and nephew.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three children, Kathy, Brady and Kyle Marcum; two brothers, Ermal Marcum, of Coal Grove, and Paul (Nancy) Marcum, of Sheridan; three sisters, Ines Marcum, of Huntsville, Texas, Dora Willis, of Coal Grove, and Ruth (John) Dennin, of North Carolina; seven brothers-in-law, Dana (Tennesse) Hannah, of Fort Gay, West Virginia, Alton (Linda) Hannah, of Delbarton, West Virginia, Hayden (Lynn) Hannah Jr., of Delbarton, West Virginia, Larry Hannah, of Delbarton, West Virginia, Dallas (Kay) Hannah, of South Shore, Kentucky, Everett (Diane) Hannah, of Delbarton, West Virginia, and Lonnie (Darlene) Hannah, of Delbarton, West Virginia; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be noon Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. George Cade officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Phillip Watkins
Phillip Rodney Watkins, 68, of South Point, died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Watkins.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Sybene Missionary Baptist Church, South Point. Burial will follow in Miller Memorial Gardens, Miller. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the church. Dusty Hatten
Dusty Lee Hatten, 47, of Proctorville, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

Ethel Darlene Langham, 74, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, Feb. 4, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

Harvey D. Soper, 80, of South Point, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.

Travis Caldwell, 64, of Pedro, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2018, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Candi Marie Barrett Caldwell.
