OVC wrestling meet, youth event Saturday

It’s time to hit the mat.
The Ohio Valley Conference wrestling championship will be held starting at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Fairland High School.
Both high school and middle school teams from Chesapeake, Ironton, Fairland, South Point and Gallipolis will compete for league championships.
“This is a sport that these athletes love,” said Fairland coach Chuck Wentz.
“Wrestling is a tough sport that requires a lot of hard work and conditioning.”
Also, the Tri-State Youth Wrestling League championships will be held after the OVC matches with an approximately 3 p.m. starting time.
There are more than 300 wrestlers in the new youth league the was initiated this year.
