PEDRO — The Fairland Lady Dragons strive for perfection. In the Ohio Valley Conference race this season, they got it.
Fairland beat the Rock Hill Redwomen 59-24 on Thursday to finish 14-0 in the league and 20-2 overall.
Emily Chapman had 17 points, five assists and four steals to lead Fairland. Allie Marshall got 13 points, seven rebounds, six steals and three assists.
Alesha Simpson pulled down nine rebounds and blocked two shots for the Lady Dragons.
Rock Hill (3-15, 0-14) was led by Maddie Scott with eight points and six rebounds. Makenzie Hanshaw scored six points, Kelsey Olderham grabbed eight rebounds and Lucy Simpson had seven rebounds.
Fairland went on a 13-0 run to start the game and took a 21-1 lead. Wilson scored six of her points in the quarter.
Marshall hit a 3-pointer to start the second quarter but Hanshaw got a basket to make it 24-7. Warnock and Hanshaw then traded baskets and it was 26-9.
But the Lady Dragons scored eight unanswered points to end the half and it was 34-9.
Kyleigh Noel hit a basket for Rock Hill and it was 43-16 but Marshall scored with 14 seconds left in the quarter and the lead was 45-16.
Wilson scored with 3:12 to go and Jenna Stone’s basket opened up a 55-17 lead. At the 2:38 mark as the Lady Dragons coasted to the win.
In the Division III sectional at Jackson, Rock Hill plays Ironton at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday and Fairland plays at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, against the winner of South Point-Chesapeake.
