Part of CCTC nursing diploma ceremony on Friday
GETAWAY — Three dozen graduates from the Collins Career Technical Center LP/RN nursing diploma program received their pins at a ceremony at the vocational school on Friday.
The graduates were part of the two-year program, part of the school’s adult education offerings.
Rene Cochran, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, was one of those walking at the ceremony at the school’s main campus. She scored the highest overall in her class.
“That’s what they told me,” she said. My overall average was 99 percent.”
Cohran, who began the program last January, said she plans to continue her education.
“I’ll be going straight into my Master’s,” she said.
Michael Gleichauf, who does marketing for the school, said CCTC hosts the ceremony annually and that graduates picked out their own pins this year.
Gleichauf said the nursing program takes in 40 students twice a year.
She said a pinning ceremony for high school nursing graduates will take place in May.
