Roy Jackson

April 22, 1936 — Feb. 9, 2018

Roy Junior Jackson, 81, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Russell, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born April 22, 1936, a son to the late Roy and Hazel (Driscoll) Jackson.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Aletha “Louise” Turley Jackson, of Ironton.
Mr. Jackson was a 1954 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School. Roy went on to work as an operator at Aristech in Ceredo-Kenova, West Virginia, where he retired in 2001 after more than 25 years of service. He was of the Methodist faith. He also loved to watch the Cincinnati Reds, work on puzzle books and garden.
In addition to his wife, Roy is survived by nine children, Brenda (Timothy) Stapleton, Terry Jackson, Rick Collins, Dreama Jackson, Roy “Eddie” Jackson, Jimmy (Debbie) Jackson, Greg (Cathy) Jackson, Randy Jackson and Aloura (Papaw’s baby) Jackson, all of Ironton; a special mother in-law, Addie Blankenship; 20 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a son, Larry Jackson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Travis Jackson officiating. Burial will follow at Langdon Cemetery.

Richard L. Watters, 70, of Indianapolis, Indiana, died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018, at home. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Faye Watters. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
