JACKSON — The season ended much the same way it went for all 23 games.
The Rock Hill Redmen played hard and played their opponent tough only to see the game slip away in the second half as they fell 53-34 in the Division III sectional tournament semifinals.
Rock Hill had a one-point lead at the half but was outscored 31-11 in the second half.
Kadin France scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds while Jaret Bacorn had 10 points and nine rebounds to lead the Redmen.
Jake Blagg added eight assists and three steals for Rock Hill.
Eastern had three players in double figures as Cody Weaver and Michael Miller scored 14 each and Noah Gray hit three 3-pointers and scored 13.
The game was tied 12-12 at the end of the first quarter as France scored six points. Miller hit a 3-pointer and scored seven points for the Eagles.
Rock Hill (2-21) led the favored Beaver Eastern Eagles by one point at the half (23-22), but then the Redmen fell behind in the third quarter and could never recover.
Bacorn scored six points and Braden Stamper hit a trey as Rock Hill took the lead.
Eastern came out in the third quarter and outscored Rock Hill 19-4 to take a 41-27 lead.
Gray hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 10 points while Waver added five points in the Eagles’ scoring outburst.
Bacorn and France had the only two baskets of the quarter for the Redmen.
Weaver hit a 3-pointer and combined with Miller for nine points in the fourth quarter.
France had five points including 3-of-3 at the line and Garrett Miller hit a basket for Rock Hill’s seven points.
Beaver Eastern will play Wellston at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday in the sectional finals.
