Harriett Elder

June 13, 1941 — Feb. 24, 2018

Harriett Elane “Sissy” Elder, 76, of Greenup, Kentucky, passed away Saturday evening, Feb. 24, 2018, from lung disease and cancer in Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Sissy was born June 13, 1941, in Portsmouth, and was preceded in death by her mother, Nettie Fultz Nichols, at a young age. She was raised by Harry D. and Charlotte Nichols, who also precede her in death, along with a grandchild, Charlie Semones.
Sissy attended the First Presbyterian Church in Ironton, attended Russell and Raceland schools, graduated from Ohio Realty College and sold real estate for Grant Realty in the 1980s. She was a graduate of the Kentucky Police Academy, and became a police officer and sergeant for more than 20 years with the Raceland Police Department, from which she retired. She served in the DARE program, Shop with a Cop, the FADE program, was the abuse officer for the Greenup Humane Society, a Kentucky Colonel, loved jet skiing and boating, the Mounted Patrol, horseback riding on her special horse, Bones, dancing and was an avid follower of the ‘60s band, the Fugitives.
She is survived by her son, Eric, and his wife, Michelle Elder, of Frankfurt, Kentucky; and her sister, Val, and her husband, Roger Ford, of Ironton. Also surviving her are her grandchildren, Jonathan Elder, Makenna Elder, Baylie Elder and Jacob Semones; a special aunt, Yvonne Fultz Lyon, of Portsmouth; and special friend and sister, Val, and cousin, Debbie Ellis, who traveled with her and did many special things.
Funeral services for Sissy will be Friday by the Revs. Doug Henry and Carson Hunt at Music Family Funeral Home, Greenup, Kentucky. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow services Friday in Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Shore, Kentucky. She will be greatly missed by all.

Milton Wise

Milton LeRoy Wise, 79, of Proctorville, died Monday, Feb. 26, 2018, at home.
There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, is assisting the family with arrangements. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.ehallfuneralhome.com.
