Eagles release Curry to save money
PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The Philadelphia Eagles have released defensive end Vinny Curry in a cost-cutting move.
The decision announced Friday saves Philadelphia $5 million under the salary cap. The Super Bowl champions bolstered the defensive line by acquiring Michael Bennett in a trade and signing free agent Haloti Ngata.
Curry had 22 sacks in six seasons. He was a full-time starter in 2017, recording three sacks and a career-best 48 tackles.
