Several appear for drug cases

Several defendants appeared in Lawrence County Common Pleas Judge Charles Cooper’s courtroom for drug cases on Friday.

• Tonia Y. Clark, 38, of 2422 S. Fifth St., Ironton, previously pleaded guilty to trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), a third-degree felony, trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony, and possession of drugs (amphlet salts), a felony of the fifth-degree. On Friday, Cooper sentenced her to 48 months in prison.

• Heather Henry, 31, of 850 County Road 18, South Point, pleaded not guilty to three counts of trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), all fifth-degree felonies, and complicity to trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for April 4.

• Benjamin S. Hughes, 43, of 1200 Vine St., Ironton, pleaded not guilty to three counts of trafficking in drugs (methamphetamine), all fourth-degree felonies. Cooper set bond at $25,000 cash or surety and $25,000 OR. Pretrial was set for April 4.

• Shasta S. Jenkins, 34, of 5207 County Road 19, Kitts Hill, pleaded not guilty to possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $5,000 OR. Pretrial was set for March 28.

• Zachary C. Jenkins, 27, of 826 S. 10th St., Apt. D, Ironton, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs (methamphetamine), a fifth-degree felony. He was eligible for intervention in lieu of conviction, and Cooper ordered him to complete treatment at Mended Reeds, 200 hours community service and one year probation.

• Audra R. Martin, 46, of 49 County Road 7F, Ironton, or 223 Township Road 1186, South Point, pleaded not guilty to complicity to trafficking in drugs and five counts of trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), all fourth-degree felonies, in two separate cases. Cooper set bond at $20,000 cash or surety and $20,000 OR. Pretrial was set for March 20.

• David M. Meade, 43, of 1312 S. Fourth St., Apt. B, Ironton, pleaded not guilty to trafficking in drugs (Oxycodone), a fourth-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $10,000 OR. Pretrial was set for April 4.

• Randy L. Perkey, 42, of 108 Sharon Court, South Point, pleaded guilty to trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony. In exchange for his guilty plea, the state agreed to nolle a third-degree tampering with evidence charge and a fourth-degree trafficking in heroin charge. Cooper sentenced him to four years community-controlled sanctions (CCS) under intensive supervised probation (ISP) with 17 months reserved, and ordered him to pay a $3,500 fine and complete treatment at Riverside Recovery Services. A gun was also forfeited in the case.

• Stephanie L. Williams, 36, of 1609 Walnut St., Flatwoods, Kentucky, pleaded not guilty to theft of drugs (Lorazepam), a fourth-degree felony. Cooper set bond at $5,000 OR. Pretrial was set for March 28.
