The hunt is on

- With the blare of a fire truck, children hurry to collect Easter eggs during the 2017 Eggapalooza in South Point. Over 300 children attended last year’s event, which had 20,000 eggs for the kids.
Numerous Easter egg activities coming up next two weekends
With Easter fast approaching, a number of groups will be having egg hunts for kids and other activities.
That includes the following locations and dates:
• On Thursday, March 22 the South Point branch of Briggs Lawrence County Library will have Egg-Cellant Art program, where kids can make Easter-egg inspired art. It is from 4-5 p.m.
• On Saturday, March 24, there will be several events throughout the day. The Friends of Ironton will have a breakfast with the Easter Bunny from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Ro-Na Theater. Cost is $6 for breakfast. The Central Christian Church will have an Easter egg hunt from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. There will also be hot dogs and inflatables. Coal Grove Memorial United Church will have an Easter egg hunt at 11 a.m. There Eggapalooza Easter egg hunt from 1-2 p.m. at the South Point Board of Education office at 203 Park Ave. in South Point.
In Flatwoods, the Faith Christian Assembly Church will have an Easter-themed bazaar with items for sale from 19 vendors. There will also be baked goods and hot dogs for sale.
• On Saturday, March 31, there will be an Easter egg hunt from 5-7 p.m. at the Ironton Hills Plaza, with registration beginning at 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Ironton AT&T store and is free and open to the public. The Rockwood Baptist Church in Chesapeake will have an Easter Egg hunt from 11 a.m.-noon.
