COLUMBUS — The Fairland Dragons extended their season another week in terms of postseason honors.
Three Dragons were named to the Ohio Prep Sports Writers Association All-Ohio Division II basketball team on Tuesday.
The trio included 6-foot-8 senior center Kollin Van Horn, 6-2 senior guard Luke Thomas and 6-4 senior forward Isaiah Howell.
Van Horn — who was the Southeast District Player of the Year — was named to the All-Ohio first team after he averaged 16.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.0 blocked shots.
He also shot 57 percent from the field and had more than 1,000 career points and surpassed 500 career rebounds.
Thomas was named to the All-Ohio second team after he also scored more than 1,000 points in his career. He averaged 14.0 points per game, 4.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and shots 52 percent from the field and 42 percent from the 3-point line.
Van Horn and Thomas were both first team Southeast All-District picks. Howell was a second team all-district selection.
Speaking of Howell, he joined Van Horn with the distinction of scoring more than 1,000 points and grabbing more than 500 rebounds in his career.
Named All-Ohio honorable mention, Howell averaged 15.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals a game while shooting 60 percent from the floor and 40 percent from the arc.
All three players were four-year starters and help Fairland win three straight Ohio Valley Conference titles. They led the Dragons to the regional tournament the past two seasons including a berth in the Division III state semifinals last season.
Fairland moved up to Division II this season and reached the regional semifinals.
