Betty Cochran

Jan. 9, 1928—April 13, 2018

Betty Cochran, 90, of Ironton, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018, at Kingsbrook Lifecare Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Mrs. Cochran was born in Ironton, Jan. 9, 1928, a daughter to the late Brady and Marietta (Dickess) Addis.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Cochran Jr., who passed away in 1990.
Mrs. Cochran was a graduate of Dawson Bryant High School and retired from Wolohan Lumber Company as a credit manager. She was a member of the First Nazarene Church, Ironton and a member of Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Brady Addis.
She is survived by a daughter, Mary Beth (Denny) Latham, of Marietta, Georgia; two step-children, Susan and Danny; one sister, Barbara Woodburn, of Ironton; one brother, Donald (Melba) Addis, of Decatur, Georgia; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday at the First Nazarene Church, 2318 S. 4th St., Ironton, with Rev. Robert Hale and Betty’s grandson, Pastor Patrick Latham officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park, Ashland, Kentucky.
Visitation will be Monday, 6-8 p.m. at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. 6th St., Ironton.

Carol Fairchild

April 7, 1939 — April 14, 2018

Carol Faye Fairchild, 79, of South Point, passed away Saturday, April 14 at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Carol was born April 7, 1939 in Ironton, a daughter of the late Frank and Beatrice Johnson Carpenter.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin brother, Harold “Bub” Carpenter; a sister, Judy Belcher and maternal grandmother, Bessie Johnson.
Carol was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and worked as a secretary at Gibbs Hardware in Ashland, Kentucky for many years.  She is survived by her loving husband, Phillip Fairchild; two children, Greg (Sally) Fairchild, of South Point, Wade (Lorinda) Fairchild, of Olive Hill, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Stephen (Haley Chambers) Fairchild, Mason Fairchild, Christopher Fairchild, Kyle Matthew Kiser and Kory Marshall Kiser; and two great grandchildren, Lindsay Fairchild and Camden Fairchild.
Funeral Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with Clp. Carson Hunt officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens.  Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.  Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Glima Allen

Glima Beatrice “Bea” Slone Allen, 99, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Trinity Station Retirement Community in Flatwoods, Kentucky.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky, with Ann and Elmer Mullins officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Johnson Memorial Cemetery in Pikeville, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

David Green, 76, of Chesapeake, died Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Hospice House of Huntington. Hall Funeral Home, Proctorville, is in charge of arrangements, which are incomplete.

Scott Crabtree

April 20, 1966 — April 13, 2018

Scott Crabtree, 51, of Ironton, passed away Friday, April 13, 2018 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born April 20, 1966, a son of Alena Sue Pierson of Ironton and Gary Edward (Mandy) Crabtree, of Chillicothe.
Scott was a 1985 graduate of Ironton High School and earned a degree in HVAC/Refrigeration from the Lawrence County Vocational School. He was a electrical motor repairman for Service Pump and Supply in Huntington, West Virginia for 25 years and owner of Crab’s Custom Baits, where he made and hand painted custom fishing lures and plugs. Scott was a former Exalted Ruler of the B.P.O.E. #177 in Ironton and will be missed by many friends. He loved taking family vacations to the beach and Lake Erie, as well as hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Christi Lynn Gambill Crabtree, who he married September 15, 1984; two daughters, Ashley (David Fox) Crabtree and Bethany Crabtree, both of Ironton; two grandchildren, Emma and Ethan Fox; two brothers, Chris (Dana) Crabtree, of Kitts Hill, and Kevin Brammer, of Grayson, Kentucky; three sisters, Sueann (Eric) Day, of Ironton, Samantha Crabtree and Chloe Riley, both of Chillicothe.
He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at the convenience of Scott’s family. Phillips Funeral Home is assisting the Crabtree family with arrangements and condolences can be made at phillipsfuneralhome.net
