Two Republicans running for Ohio’s U.S. Senate seat announced they have launched television advertising campaigns for the May 8 primary.
U.S. Rep. Jim Renacci has premiered a spot, which will be airing on cable and broadcast networks throughout the state.
The ad, entitled “Fight for Ohio,” highlights Jim Renacci’s three decades of experience in the business world and his record as what his campaign described as “the only proven conservative in the race.”
Renacci’ campaign is backed by President Donald Trump, and he has also the endorsed candidate of Ohio Right to Life and the NRA.
Maryville business woman Melissa Ackison also launched her statewide television advertisement campaign this week, with an ad on the Fox network.
“Melissa continues to be underestimated by the media and her opponents while her supporters are confident in her ability to win the primary and yank Sherrod Brown’s Senate seat from him once and for all,” her campaign said in a news release.
Renacci and Ackison also face Cleveland-area investment banker Mike Gibbons in the primary. The Republican candidate will face Brown, a Democratic incumbent seeking a third term, in the fall general election.
