Ricky Allen Akers, “Booger”, 53, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at home with hospice care.
He was born in Ironton on Dec. 1, 1964, the son of the late Frank and Emma Wright Akers. He was also preceded in death by his two sisters, Loretta Carmon and Tina Akers.
Rick is survived by his wife of 34 years, Marie Bowman Akers; a son, Jeremy (Cara) Akers; a daughter, Candace (Joshua) Crabtree; three brothers, Bill (Jeanie) Akers, Dale (Brenda) Akers, all of Ironton, and Mike (Marcie) Akers of Morehead, Kentucky; six sisters, Alberta Wilson, Cathy (Doug) Clark, all of Ironton, Dorothy (Bobby) Johnson, Margie Hayes, Brenda Akers Price all of South Point and Beverly (Dave) Taylor of Columbus; his four grandchildren he loved dearly, Carson, Adison, Karter and Klaire; a special cousin, Judy Wright-Novak; and a dear special friend, like a brother for many years, Doug Clark. He also leaves many other family members and friends, who will sadly miss him.
Rick was a member of the Carpenters Local 472 out of Ashland, Kentucky. He enjoyed camping, hunting, dirt track racing and spending as much time as he could with his family, friends and especially his grandkids.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe-Funeral Home, 518 South Sixth Street, Ironton, with a family friend, Shirley Kearns officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery and visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy Akers, Carson Akers, Brian Akers, Doug Clark, James Clark, Shannon Clark, Shaun Clark, Vernon Wilson, Michael Hopper, Chris Hopper, and Joshua Crabtree.

Martha Elizabeth Bryan Lynd, 68, of Flatwoods, Kentucky, died on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday at Bailey Family Funeral Home in Flatwoods, Kentucky, with Pastor Johnny Riley officiating. Burial will follow at Ashland Cemetery in Ashland, Kentucky.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
