Loretta Carmon

Aug. 24, 1950 — April 19, 2018

Loretta “Renie” Carmon, 67, of Ironton, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. She was born in Ironton on Aug. 24, 1950, the daughter of the late Frank and Emma Wright Akers. She is preceded in death by one brother, Ricky Allen Akers; and one sister, Tina Jane Akers.
She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dallas Carmon; three sons, Robbie Dean Akers, Ryan Matthew Carmon and Dallas Forrest “DJ” Carmon Jr., all of Ironton; three brothers, Bill (Jeanie) Akers and Dale (Brenda) Akers, all of Ironton, and Mike (Marcie) Akers, of Morehead, Kentucky; six sisters, Alberta Wilson and Cathy (Doug) Clark, all of Ironton, Dorothy (Bobby) Johnson, Margie Hayes and Brenda Akers Price, all of South Point, and Beverly (Dave) Taylor, of Columbus; 10 grandkids, who she loved dearly and spent most of her time with, Madison Penwell, Nathon Carmon, Kyle Sparks, Brantlee Carmon, Gracie Brammer, Caidynce Carmon, Matthew Sisler, Tucker Sisler, Savannah Sisler and Kinslee Massie.
Renie was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy, Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Darren Spainhower officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery, and visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be DJ Carmon, Ryan Carmon, Scotty Johnson, Matthew Sisler, Matthew Taylor, Kyle Sparks and Nathon Carmon. Linda Cron

July 31, 1952 — April 20, 2018

Linda Sue (Hacker) Cron, 65, of Ironton, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia, after a short illness. The Portsmouth native was born July 31, 1952.
Linda worked hard to earn her dual master’s degrees in nursing and was a dedicated nurse for over 30 years, retiring from Huntington VA Medical Center on Aug. 5, 2017.
She is survived by her daughter, Tara Leigh Cron; grandson, Ethan Riley Cron; her mother, Lois (Day) Bryant and Rick Cron; stepmother, Margaret Hacker, of Hurricane, West Virginia; brothers, Michael Hacker and David (Kelly) Hacker, of Hurricane, West Virginia; sisters, Lisa Alford and Melissa Hacker, of Hurricane, West Virginia, and June (John) Kay Clark, of Wheelersburg; stepsister, Breanda (Sean) Carroll; stepbrother, John Bryant; along with several nieces and nephews.
Linda is preceded in death by her father, William E. Hacker; her grandparents, Ezra and June May Hacker, who raised Linda; stepdaughter, Misti Dawn Cron; and step-granddaughter, Shelbi Nichole Cron.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Roger Lavender officiating. Burial will follow in Junior Furnace Cemetery, and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. Roger Norman

Roger Earl Norman, 71, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Monday, April 16, 2018, at home.

Carlos Eugene Kipp, 75, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Saturday, April 21, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia.

Franklin Morgan

Aug. 15, 1946 — April 19, 2018

Franklin Lee Morgan, 71, of Kitts Hill, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 19, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Ashland, Kentucky native was born Aug. 15, 1946, the son of the late William and Ruth Anson Morgan.
Frank was a proud retiree of General Motors in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where he was a member of the launch team and a union representative for United Auto Workers. He was an avid golfer and a car enthusiast.
He leaves behind his loving partner, Rose Whittaker; four daughters, Angela (Wayne) Cole, Tina Morgan, Frances (Chris) Brown and Barbara (Josh) Woodrow, and of course, Ray and Steve, who were like his sons; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Ruth Morgan; and sister, Ona K. Colley.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Lenny Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Community Cemetery.
