Vikings breeze by Western, 18-2

AID — Finally the Symmes Valley Vikings are playing again.
After taking more than a week off due to a senior trip, the Vikings returned to action on Monday and routed the Western Indians 18-2 in a five-inning Southern Ohio Conference game.
Nick Klaiber, Devin Renfroe and Layken Gothard combined on a five-hitter for the Vikings.
Hunter Adams went 3-3 with two doubles to lead the offense.
The Vikings led 2-1 after the first inning and Adams had a two-run singled and Austin Mannon and Keifer Wilson added RBI singles in a five-run second to make it 7-1.
Symmes Valley blew the game open with 11 runs in the third inning as the used six walks, a hit batsman, three errors and a run-scoring single by Klaiber and an RBI double by Adams to highlight the uprising.
The Vikings visit Portsmouth Notre Dame on Wednesday.
