Errors prove costly in Lady Flyers loss

SOUTH WEBSTER — Errors are part of the game.
But nine errors aren’t wanted.
The St. Joseph Lady Flyers were guilty of nine errors in an 18-5 loss to the South Webster Lady Jeeps.
St. Joseph got two runs in the first when Kelsey Malone reach on an error, Ashley Bartram was hit by a pitch, Karly Young walked and Kaitlyn Sheridan hit into a fielder’s choice.
South Webster came back with six runs in the bottom of the inning on three errors and just two hits, one a grand slam by Bailey.
The Lady Jeeps scored 10 runs in the third inning on six hits and six Lady Flyers’ errors.
St. Joseph scored three runs in the fourth.
Faith Mahlmeister singled, Paige Preston was hit by a pitch and Malone singled in a run. Alex Holtzapfel walked and Bartram singled in two runs.
The Lady Jeeps used two singles and a two-run double by Bailey.
