Flyers roll by Royals

ASHLAND, Ky. — The St. Joseph Flyers swung their bats on Thursday and they swung them well.
St. Joseph (14-3) had 11 hits as they beat the Rose Hill Royals 21-5 in five innings.
The Flyers went up 3-0 in the first inning.
J.C. Damron and Jackson Rowe walked and moved up on a wild pitch, Chase Wilds reached on an error for a run and a throwing error scored the second run.

Rose Hill got two runs in the first but the Flyers scored three in the second.
Jacob Salisbury, Brycen Cantor and Damron walked and Jimmy Mahlmeister hit a sacrifice fly.
Rowe walked to load the base and Max Weber had a two-run single.
After the Royals got within 6-5 in the bottom of the inning, the Flyers blew the game open with 12 runs in the third.
Salisbury singled, Mahlmeister, Rowe and Damron all walked for a run and Wilds hit a two-run double.
Chase Walters got an RBI single, Izsak Unger and Clay Willis walked and Isaac Whaley had an rbi single.
Trae Crabtree and Damron walked for a run and Mahlmeister tripled to empty the bases. He then scored on a throwing error.
Whaley went 2-2, Walters 2-3, Weber 1-1 and Wilds 2-5 to pace the offense. Mahlmeister had four RBI.
The Flyers hosts Western at 11 a.m. on Saturday in the Division IV sectional tournament.
