Nada Booth

Feb. 17, 1928 — May 28, 2018

Nada Iris Chapman Booth, 90, of South Point, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born Feb. 17, 1928, in Lesage, West Virginia, daughter of the late Alric Alonzo Chapman and Letha May Clay Chapman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Paul Booth; one son, Earl Booth; two sisters, Thelma Cook and Theda James; and five brothers, John Chapman, Alric Ross Chapman, Robert Harold Chapman, Billy Alonzo Chapman and the Rev. Jerry Chapman.
She is survived by her children, Shelia Booth, of South Point, Russell Paul Booth II, of Indiana, Peggy Booth, of South Point, and Katherine Martin, of Kitts Hill; eight grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Leatherwood Cemetery, South Point, with pastor Marty Gue officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point. Condolences to the family may be expressed at www.slackandwallace.com.

Mary Bodmer
June 12, 1938 — May 28, 2018

Mary Alyce Bodmer, 79, of Ironton, died Monday, May 28, 2018, at Community Hospice, Ashland, Kentucky. She was born June 12, 1938, in Ironton, the daughter of the late Tordiff and Helen Culbertson. She is also the widow of Dale Fred Bodmer.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Rose Boll; and two brothers, Fred Culbertson and Dan Culbertson.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton, and retired from the YMCA of Ashland, Kentucky.
Survivors include one daughter, Denise (Wesley) Bodmer-Booker, of Ironton; one son, Michael Bodmer (David Robins), of Grove City; and one granddaughter, Lynsey Booker, of Ironton.
Graveside committal service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Calvary Cemetery in Coal Grove with Fr. David Huffman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to Community Hospice, 1588 Central Ave., Ashland, KY 41101, or Ironton Catholic Schools, 912 S. Sixth St., Ironton, OH 45638. O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, is in charge of arrangements.

 

Larry Farmer

Nov. 3, 1950 — May 28, 2018

Larry Michael Farmer, 67, resident of Ironton, passed away Monday, May 28, 2018, from cancer. He was born Nov. 3, 1950, to Ida Marie Lyons and Lloyd Louis Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his eldest daughter, Christy Farmer Miller, of Longview, Texas.
He is survived by three children, Erica, Michael and Derrick Farmer Waddell; two grandchildren, Brayden and Elijah; and his friend, Keith “Kedro” Bennett.
He was of the Apostolic Pentecostal faith. He was an Airborne Ranger in the U.S. Army and served two terms in Vietnam. He received two Purple Hearts while serving. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion, the VFW, the DAV, as well as a member of the Ironton and Ashland Moose clubs.
Services for friends and family will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Brown Funeral Chapel, Ironton, and at noon at Woodland Cemetery.
