Austin Evans
March 12, 1936 — June 2, 2018
Austin Eddie Evans, 82, of Pedro, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky.
Mr. Evans was born March 12, 1936, in Lawrence County, a son of the late Ersel and Ruby (Roth) Evans. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Patricia Iona Beaver Evans.
Mr. Evans attended Decatur Schools. He was an Army veteran. He was a retired mechanic for Allied Chemical. He was a man of many traits. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also loved singing and playing his guitar.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Michael Dean Evans; two brothers, Raymond (Mary) Evans and Calvin (Doris) Evans; two brothers-in-law, Curt Rogers and Isom Gibson; and a great-grandbaby in heaven.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Sherry Angela Mitchell, of Gallipolis; son, Ferrell Eddie (Betina Jean) Evans, of Chesapeake, Virginia; four grandchildren, Ashley Mitchell, Erin Mitchell, Dean Evans and Kristianna Evans; great-grandchild, Wyatt Brannen; three sisters, Loretta Rogers and Joanne Gibson, both of Ironton, and Eloise (Bill) Phillips, of Pedro.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Decatur Missionary Baptist Church, Decatur with pastor Brian Phillips and pastor Calvin Ray Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Vernon cemetery with military graveside rites provided by VFW Post 8850. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton.

Harold Carmon
Oct. 22, 1955 — June 4, 2018
Harold “Paul” Carmon, 62, of Coal Grove, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at the Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born Oct. 22, 1955, a son of the late Harold and Geraldine Lemaster Carmon. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Tammie Ruth Carmon, who passed away Oct. 2, 2014.
Mr. Carmon was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a former employee of Haverhill Chemical for more than 15 years. He enjoyed going to Coal Grove football games and spending time with his wife and grandchildren. He was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Carmon; and two brothers, Ricky Carmon and Randy Carmon.
He is survived by three sons, Jason (Deborah) Carmon, Jeremy Carmon and Brian Carmon; a brother, Bobby Carmon; a sister, Sandra Carmon; and three grandchildren, Aubree Raine Carmon, Kaitlynn Riffe and Petey Riffe.
Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in Lawrence Furnace Cemetery with pastor Brad Jenkins officiating.
