Three days of entertainment lined up for Coal Grove

COAL GROVE — Family Fun Days are set to begin at Paul Porter Park next week.

The event, organized by the Coal Grove Betterment Club, will run 5-10 p.m. each day from Sunday, July 1 to Tuesday, July 3.

“We have entertainment every night,” Carol Gool, a longtime member of the Betterment Club, said.

She said there would also be inflatables for children, food vendors and fireworks.

Gool said the event has taken place in the village for about 30 years.

The Betterment Club will host a cake and pie auction and 6 p.m. on Tuesday, with all proceeds going to the club, which organizes events and activities in the village, such as the annual Christmas display at the park.

“We’re really proud of that,” Gool said, adding that the club had about 30 new members join this year.

Gool said there would also be an auction of baskets, filled by local businesses and organizations.

She said fireworks are set for 10 p.m. on Tuesday.

“The best viewing for that will be from the park this year,” she said.
