ODOT issues traffic advisory

The following traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County. • County Road 18 (Solida Road) will be closed between the U.S. 52 eastbound interchange ramps and Collins Avenue at South Point for an intersection improvement project. The closure will be in effect through Dec. 31, 2018, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via either County Road 120 (Macedonia Road) or County Road 450 (Grandview Avenue) and County Road 1 (Old U.S. 52). The westbound interchange ramps will remain open to motorists traveling north on Solida Road.

• State Route 217 is closed at its junction with County Road 6 (Deering Bald Knob Road) for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located two miles east of State Route 141, and Deering Bald Knob Road is closed as well. Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via State Route 141 and State Route 378, and a local detoured will be maintained via County Road 54 (Dog Fork Road). The project is scheduled to be completed by late summer.

• State Route 522 is closed between State Route 650 and Township Road 254E (Wagner Bridge-Empire Road) for a bridge replacement project. The closure will be in effect for approximately 45 days, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via State Route 650 and State Route 93. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer.

• U.S. 52 is subject to single-lane restrictions through the village of Hanging Rock, between the County Road 23 (Ohio Furnace Road) interchange and Rock Avenue, for a resurfacing project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and variable speed limit will be in effect. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer.
