Janet Sue Yates
May 10, 1938- Aug. 9, 2018

Janet Sue Yates, 80 of Coal Grove, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 9, 2018 at Harbor Healthcare, Ironton. She was born May 10, 1938 in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Archie and Hilda Beals Cope.
She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church and the former owner and operator of Hetty’s Lunch in Coal Grove. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Yates; her brother, Robert Sloan; and her grandson, Jeff Shuff.
Survivors include her four children: Bambi (Bernie) Hensley of Ironton, Charles (Sharon) Yates, Jr. of Crab Orchard, West Virginia, Melissa (Kevin) Jenkins of Ironton, and Mac Yates of Coal Grove; step-daughter Jackie (Ronnie) Jenkins of Ironton; half-sister Linda Cope Oliver of Boca Raton, Florida; ten grandchildren; Derek (Jessi) Newman, Amelia Newman, Morgan Yates, Caleb (Shania) Newman, Casey Newman, Corey (Tiffany) Newman, Alyssa Bare, Nick (Emily) Yates, Rachel Osborne, and Garrin Yates; and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at noon, Tuesday, at Zoar Baptist Church with Pastor Jim Beals officiating. Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m., Monday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton.

Joyce Ann Floyd

Joyce Ann Floyd, 79, of Ironton, passed away Friday, Aug. 10, 2018 at a local healthcare facility. The Lawrence County native was born July 26, 1939, a daughter of the late Frank and Lena Hutchinson Depriest. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Carl Floyd.
Mrs. Floyd was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and a homemaker. She was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by: a son: Carl (Patty) Floyd of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two granddaughters: Katelyn (Joe) Gillispie of Ironton and Bethany Joyce Floyd of Flatwoods, Kentucky; two brothers: Rod (Becky) Depriest and Lloyd Depriest all of Ironton and two great grandchildren: Chase Riley and Jalynn Gillispie.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Woodland Cemetery with Chaplain Randy Tate officiating. There will be no visitation.
Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. Seventh, St., Ironton, Ohio, is assisting the family with the arrangements. Donations may be made to the Community Hospice Care Center, 2330 Pollard Road, Ashland, KY 41101.

Harold Pruit
Harold (Huck) Pruitt, 69, of Ironton passed away on Aug. 10, 2018. He was the son of the late Clifford and late Dorothy Coles Pruitt.
He was preceeded by two sons; Bill Pruitt and Mark Pruitt; and one infant daughter.
He is survived by his loving wife of fifty years Charlotte Sisler Pruitt, two daughters Melissa and Joey Kidd, Jeannie and Tim Murphy, he is also survived by four brothers Gary Pruitt, Tim Pruitt, Allen Pruitt, Carl Pruitt, four sisters Andrea Bowan, Glenda Bruce, Pat Wilburn, Dory Wetzel, four grandchildren Sarah, Emily, Joey, and Madison.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 1-3 p.m. at O’Keefe-Baker Funeral Home with graveside service at 3:30 p.m. in Hanging Rock Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Cremeans officiating.
