LAWRENCE COUNTY — The Ohio Department of Transportation has road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system in Lawrence County.
• Solida Road is closed between the U.S. 52 eastbound interchange ramps and Collins Avenue at South Point for an intersection improvement project. The closure will be in effect through December 31, 2018, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via either Macedonia Road or Grandview Avenue and County Road One. The westbound interchange ramps will remain open to motorists traveling north on Solida Road.
• Ohio 217 is closed at its junction with Deering Bald Knob Road for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located two miles east of Ohio 141, and Deering Bald Knob Road is closed as well. Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via Ohio 141 and Ohio 378, and a local detoured will be maintained via Dog Fork Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by late summer.
• Ohio 522 has been reopened to traffic between Ohio 650 and Wagner Bridge-Empire Road following a bridge replacement project. Crews will return to the site to complete paving operations, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers when crews are at work. A schedule to complete the additional paving work has yet to be determined.
