Lady Dragons edge past Lady Hornets

COAL GROVE — The Coal Grove Lady Hornets went down, but not without a fight.
The Lady Hornets battled before losing to the Fairland Lady Dragons in five sets on Thursday in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game.
Fairland — currently tied for first in the league — edged the Lady Hornets 15-25, 25-19, 25-17, 13-25 and 15-9 in the tiebreaker set.
“We gave it a fight. We are improving every game,” said Lady Hornets’ coach Trish Damron.
Addi Dillow turned in an impressive game for Coal Grove in an effort to produce an upset win. Dillow racked up 20 points including 11 aces.
Kaleigh Murphy added 13 points and eight kills for the Lady Hornets.
Coal Grove won the jayvee game 25-20, 25-23.
Rylee Harmon had 11 points and Maddy Hensley 10 for the Lady Hornets.
