COAL GROVE — Ask and you shall receive.
The Coal Grove Lady Hornets volleyball team was in need of a win and got it as they beat the Portsmouth Lady Trojans in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Thursday.
The Lady Hornets won the game in four sets, 25-16, 21-25, 25-22 and 25-9.
“This win is what we needed,” said Coal Grove coach Trisha Damron. “We have been struggling as a team with no wins under out belt, but the ladies came alive tonight and played well.”
A trio of players came up with big games to help propel the Lady Hornets to the win.
Addi Dillow racked up 22 points including 10 aces. Kaleigh Murphy had 19 points with five aces and Taylor Reynolds amassed 20 points with seven kills.
