Ironton Elks Lodge #177 recently made a donation of $1,000 to Ironton In Bloom for their efforts of beautifying the city.
Ironton In Bloom Chairwoman Carol Allen thanked the Elks for the generous donation, and said the money will be used by the group next year in the purchasing of new hardware for larger, 24-inch hanging baskets for Park Avenue, as well as large flower pots to be placed at the new Marriott Hotel being built and Armory Smokehouse restaurant preparing to open at the Gateway Centre.
J.D. Thomas, exalted ruler at the Ironton Elks Lodge, said he is proud of how the city looks thanks to Ironton In Bloom’s efforts of planting flowers, and is happy to help the group continue to grow.
Ironton In Bloom is also seeking nominations for its Yard of the Month Awards. Nominations for October can be submitted until the end of September, and can either be posted to the Ironton In Bloom Facebook page, mailed to P.O. Box 4599, or a message can be left at 740-550-5655.
