Donald Lewis

June 9, 1942 — Sept. 17, 2018

Donald Carson Lewis, 76, of Ironton, beloved husband of Maxine Russell Lewis, passed away peacefully after a long battle with dementia on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley, Ironton. He was born June 9, 1942, in Grayson, Kentucky, son of the late Otha Lewis and Mildred Richardson Lewis.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, David Lewis, Paul Lewis and Bill Lewis.
He retired from Johnson’s Body Shop in Westwood, Kentucky.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Donetta Bank, Missi Keska and Meredith Chapman; three grandchildren, Tabetha Willey and Devan and Ashlyn Keska; two great-grandchildren, James and Payson Willey; one brother, Steve Lewis; one sister, Mattie Bogard; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews; two special sisters-in-law, Anita Lewis and Debbie Russell; and brother-in-law, Daniel Russell.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Paul Lutheran Church for their prayers and all the prayers from family and friends. Also a special thank you to Lawrence County EMS for the many trips they made to help with Don, the Sanctuary of the Ohio Valley for their outstanding service and care, and Ashland Community Hospice for their care and support.

Rosanne Kirby

July 18, 1945 — Sept. 23, 2018

Rosanne Kirby, 73, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Sept. 23, 2018. She was born to the late John Malinowski and Joyce Howell on July 18, 1945. A lifelong Lawrence County resident, she served as Briggs Lawrence County Public Library’s loan librarian for 32 years.
Survivors include her two children, George Kirby, of Bowie, Maryland, and Zabrina Cockell-Black, of Fort Myers, Florida; her granddaughter, Brittnie Cockrell, of Fort Myers, Florida; grandson, Kyle Black; and great-granddaughter, Ziriah Black, of Ironton; as well as her beloved pets, Mocha and Zeus.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Posard; and survived by her sisters, Johanne and Sally Anne; and her brother Charles (Butch) Howell, all of Cleveland; and a number of other relatives and close friends.
Rosanne requested private services at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton. Patricia Cavin

Sept. 20, 1949 — Sept. 24, 2018

Patricia Joan Cavin, 69, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. The Ironton native was born Sept. 20, 1949, a daughter of the late Charles and Rita Monnig Haas. She is survived by her husband of 41 years, Lanny H. Cavin, whom she married Sept. 16, 1977.
Pat was a 1967 graduate of St. Joe High School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Ironton. She was a retired telephone operator for Verizon and co-owner, with her husband, of Carpet Mill Outlet in Ashland, Kentucky.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by five sisters, Betsy Rawlins, Theresa (Charlie) Carte, Mary (Jerry) Murnahan and Janet (Marion) Priode, all of Ironton, and Rita Jane (Jim) Holmes, of Middletown; two brothers, Michael (Nancy) Haas and Charlie (Kimberly) Haas, all of Ironton; a brother-in-law, Kenny (Marilyn) Cavin, of Ashland, Kentucky; a sister-in-law, Gail Cunningham, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and two great-great-nephews.
Funeral mass will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ironton, with Fr. David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and visitation will be 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton.
