Theodore Moore Jr.
Jan. 5, 1940 — Sept. 27, 2018
Theodore Moore Jr., 78, of 102 Mann St., passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at home. He was born Jan. 5, 1940, in Mann, West Virginia. He was the son of the late Theodore and Ida Moore Jones, of Ironton.
He was preceded in death by one precious daughter, Joyce Linda Moore; a daughter-in-law, Tresa Moore; one sister, Beulah Klos; and two brothers, Sherman Moore and Ricky Moore.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Linda Moore; three sons, Teddy D. Moore, of Columbus, William Moore, of St. Clairsville, and Gary Moore, of Ironton; four daughters, Rhonda Kemp, of White Chapel, Florida, Tammy Lisee, of Newago, Michigan, Ida Montgomery, of Houston, Texas, and Betty Humphreys, of Saline, Michigan; a brother, Glen Moore, of Cannonsburg, Kentucky; four sisters, Peggy Adams, of Mexico Beach, Florida, Laura Jenkins, of Greenup, Kentucky, Barbara Moore, of Hammond, Indiana, and Betty Johnson, of Gary, Indiana; a special sister-in-law, Peggy Harper, of Ironton; 19 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He attended the Ironton City Schools and was a retired heavy machinery operator of Inland Steel. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Ice Creek Missionary Baptist Church in Deering.
Funeral services will be noon Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Todd Warner officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens and visitation will be 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Wilma Barbour
Aug. 22, 1927 — Sept. 27, 2018
Wilma “Billie” Jean (Chaney) Barbour, of Wheelersburg, went “home” on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. Shortly before her departure from SOMC, room 3821, her favorite song by Chris Tomlin, “Going Home” was playing.
Born Aug. 22, 1927, to Geoffrey and Gladys (Mayo) Chaney, “Billie” is survived by her brother, George “Clif” Chaney; her children, daughter, Rebecca Derifield, and son-in-law, Don, of Franklin Furnace; their two children and six grandchildren; son, Jeff, and daughter-in-law, Linda; and their two children and three grandchildren.
A daughter, Cindy Jean, died shortly after birth. Wilma was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob Barbour; two brothers, June and Gary Chaney; and a sister, Elwanda.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at D.W. Swick-Nelson Funeral Home, Wheelersburg, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Online condolences may be shared at www.dwswicknelsonfuneralhome.com.
Christopher Strait

Christopher Allen Strait, 46, of Ironton, passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center-Ironton Campus. The Ironton native was born May 3, 1972, a son of Steven and Linda Riggsby Strait. He is survived by his wife, Tara Pennington Strait.
Christopher was a graduate of Ironton High School.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by a daughter, Sydney Allison Strait, of Ironton; two sons, Austin Christopher Strait and Bishop Tyler Strait, both of Ironton; and a brother, Michael Strait, of Vermont.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Brother Chad Pemberton officiating. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date.
