Rachel Neal

Nov. 27, 1920 — Oct. 14, 2018

Rachel Eloise Dickess Neal, 97, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Harbor Health Care Center, Ironton. Mrs. Neal was born Nov. 27, 1920, in Kitts Hill, a daughter of the late John and Emma (Murnahan) Dickess. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dan Neal, who passed away Dec. 29, 1993.
Mrs. Neal was a 1939 graduate of Kitts Hill High School. She was a former clerk for Upper Township. She also worked for Wilson’s Sporting Goods and was a realtor for Grant Realty. She was a member of Rock Hill Garden Club and Business and Professional Women’s Club in Ironton. She and her husband were also members of Antique Car Club. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was a member of Mamre Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Sue Mootz and Sophia Wilson; and seven brothers, Frank, Tom, Jack, Ed, Mac, Wilbur and David Dickess.
She is survived by two daughters, Rita Gay Neal, of Ironton, and Carla (James) Neal Pancake, of Kitts Hill; four grandchildren, Angela Pancake (Mike) Huber, of Ironton, James Todd (Julie) Pancake, of Kitts Hill, Danelle Pancake (John) Mullins, of Kitts Hill, and Brooke Adams (John) Scott, of Ironton; eight great-grandchildren, Michael (Jessica) Huber, Taylor Pancake Wilson, Tori Pancake, Drew White, Carly Mullins, Kyleigh Noel, Jaylen Noel and Haven Noel; four great-great-grandchildren, Abigail Huber, Colton Huber, Carter Pancake and Ava Wilson; and sister, Elena Szabo.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Iornton, with the Rev. John Paul Patterson and the Rev. Ryan McKee officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Drew White, Todd Pancake, John Daniel Mootz, Mike Dickess, Ron Dickess, Nathaniel Dickess and Bobby Winters, and honorary pallbearers will be Keith Dickess, Jack Edward Dickess and Donald Ray Mootz. Elinor Rowe

Dec. 29, 1925 — Oct. 15, 2018

Elinor “Jean” Rowe, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentuky. Mrs. Rowe was born Dec. 29, 1925, in Lawrence County, a daughter to the late Roscoe and Helen “Bibbey” Fore. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Ronald Lynd, and second husband, John R. Rowe.
Mrs. Rowe was a 1943 graduate of Ironton High School. She was a retired office manager for Kentucky Power. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton. Mrs. Rowe was an avid reader (mystery books), she enjoyed playing cards with friends and loved to bake and pray for others.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Lynd; and brother, Phillip “Wimpy” Gore.
She is survived by a granddaughter, Elizabeth (Oliver) Adams, of Columbus; stepdaughter, Margaret (David) Ruth Rowe, of Ashland, Kentucky; three stepsons, James (Vickie) Rowe, of Proctorville, Steve (Angela) Rowe, of Point Verda Beach, Florida, and Jeff Rowe, of Huntington, West Virginia; four step-granddaughters, Tabitha, Allison, Sarah and Martha Rowe; step-grandson, Keiffer Rowe; four great-grandchildren, Connor, Caleb, Isabella and Adriana Adams; and cousin, Helen Williams, of Ironton.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Woodland Cemetery with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton. Josephine Brammer

Sept. 12, 1934 — Oct. 14, 2018

Josephine Lowe Fraley Brammer, 84, of Ironton, died Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods, Kentucky. She was born Sept. 12, 1934, in Ashland, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Virgil and Bertha Stanley Lowe Dixon.
She attended the West Ironton Church of Nazarene. She was a registered nurse, retiring from Bellefonte Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billie E. Brammer; and the father of her children, Donald Fraley.
Survivors include one daughter, Carol (Wayne) Pennington, of Hanging Rock; one son, Don (Jan) Fraley, of Russell, Kentucky; grandchildren, Tomi (Mike) Burcher, of Minford, Jami (Rick) Taylor, of Hanging Rock, and Whitney (Diego) Bianchi, of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren, Stephen Sisler, Bentley Sisler and Landon Butcher; great-great-grandchildren, Piper Sisler and Maverick Crabtree; and one sister, Margaret (Gene) Molter, of Ironton.
She was also preceded by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara and Bill Hollingsworth and Hazel and Paul Legg; one twin brother, Eugene Lowe; and an infant brother.
A funeral will be 1 p.m. today at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, with Kevin Fraley officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Section D, and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service today at the funeral home.
