CeCelia Black

Dec. 27, 1952 — Oct. 14, 2018

CeCelia Jane Black, 65, of Oak Ridge, Tennessee, passed away after a short illness on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at home. She was born to parents Rev. Clarence Ray Baker Sr. and Betty Jo (Taylor) on Dec. 27, 1952, in Ironton.
CeCelia was a 1971 graduate of McKell High School, Greenup, Kentucky. She held professional licensed careers in banking and insurance as a bank teller in Ashland, Kentucky, Cincinnati and Yuma, Arizona, and an insurance representative for State Farm in San Dimas and San Diego, California, and Richmond, Virginia, retiring in 2004 with the Ruby Miller State Farm Agency in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She enjoyed her time as a homemaker, family farm day reunions in the Ohio and Kentucky area, and special July meetings for the Big Branch Old Regular Baptist homecomings, being a eighth generation McCoy of Brushy Creek in Pikeville, Kentucky.
She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Rush Biege Taylor; grandmother, Calysta “Carrie” Jane (McCoy); aunt, Cecelia McCoy; father, the Rev. Clarence Ray Baker Sr.; mother, Betty Jo (Taylor); father-in-law, Leslie Owen Black Sr.; and sister-in-law, Deborah Kaye Pool.
She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Leslie Owen Black Jr., of Oak Ridge, Tennessee; daughters, Katyna Witten, of Ashland, Kentucky, Audrey Okonkwo, of Fontana, California, and Alissa Black, of Oakland, California; grandchildren, Erica, Alana, Taj, Aeri and Bruce; brother, the Rev. Clarence E. Baker, of Ashland, Kentucky; sisters, Tyna McCown, of Ironton, and Ruthanne DeLong, of Kitts Hill; mother-in-law, Ruby Thomas; sisters-in-law, Carol Corkery, Gloria Pingrey, Lynda Black and Carolyn Barnes; a host of nieces and nephews; and dearest lifelong friend, Brenda Ruthledge, of Florence, Arizona.
Family and friends will meet for a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Anderson Memorial Gardens, Clinton, Tennessee, with the Rev. Jeremy Taylor, of Oak Ridge Baptist Church, officiating. Dona Fitts

Aug. 22, 1938 — Oct. 15, 2018

Dona Fitts, 80, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Lawrence County native was born Aug. 22, 1938, a daughter of the late Don and Helen (Jones) Litle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben Fitts.
Mrs. Fitts was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a member of Central Christian Church.
She is survived by a son, Benny Fitts, of Ironton; a daughter, Cyndi Fitts, of Ironton; a granddaughter, Casey (Tony) Bell, of Ironton; two great-granddaughters, Marlie and Tawny Bell, of Ironton; and two great-grandsons, Anthony and Jensen Bell, of Ironton.
Funeral services will be noon Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Willie Purdee officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Kathryn Loukx

June 10, 1926 — Oct. 15, 2018

Kathryn Loukx, 92, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Ironton, passed away Monday, Oct. 15, 2018, at her residence. Mrs. Loukx was born June 10, 1926, in Lawrence County, a daughter of the late Homer and Marie (Thompson) Hayes. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Richard Loukx, who passed away in 2008.
Mrs. Loukx was a graduate of Ironton High School and was a retired bookkeeper for Staley’s Pharmacy. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Ironton.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Howard, M.D., of Largo, Florida.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Woodland Cemetery with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. There will be no public visitation and Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
