Ray Holley Jr.

Feb. 6, 1938 — Oct. 23, 2018

Ray Holley Jr., 80, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2018, at his residence. The Lawrence County native was born Feb. 6, 1938, a son of the late Ray Holley Sr. and Jennie Dickess Holley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marlene Willis Holley, who passed away April 2, 2013.
Mr. Holley was a graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and was a former employee of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union Local 577 for more than 50 years. He enjoyed farming, hunting and sports.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Joretta Horn.
He is survived by three daughters, Marla Rae Depriest, Jenny (John) Kuhn and Amy Holley, all of Ironton; four sons, Rock A. (Donna) Holley, of South Carolina, and Charles Holley, Stephen Holley and John Holley, all of Ironton; two sisters, Martha (Sam) Smith, of Coal Grove, and Virginia Horn, of Oak Hill; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Woodland Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Dillon officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. Beverly Osborne

Jan. 3, 1979 — Oct. 22, 2018

Beverly G. Osborne, 39, of South Point, went to be with the Lord on Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus. She was born Jan. 3, 1979, in Huntington, West Virginia, daughter of Jeannine Shope Tackett, of South Point, and Mark (Cindy) Christian, of South Point.
Beverly was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Doris and Jim Shope.
Survivors include her loving husband, Christopher Osborne; a son, Mark Xavier Osborne; a sister, Kaitlyn Christian; a brother, Cole Christian; an aunt, Angie (Don) Dalton; two special cousins, Hannah and Jenna Roberts; paternal grandparents, Rose and Jack Christian; in-laws, Wayne and Gwen Osborne; two sisters-in-law, Melissa Osborne and Jessica (Nathan) Fitch; and a dear friend, Tom Roberts.
Beverly was a member of Big Branch Church in Chesapeake and loved to sing. She graduated from Ohio University and received her Master’s Degree from Marshall University. She was a teacher at South Point schools for 17 years.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Big Branch Church, Chesapeake, with pastor Randy Henderson officiating. Friends may visit two hours prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens, South Point. Pallbearers will be Tom Roberts, Wayne Osborne, Dylan Abrams, Nathan Fitch, Cole Christian and Eric Burchett. Mary McClellan

Mary Ellen McClellan, 69, of Ironton, died Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, at Knights Bridge of Columbus. She was born in Angola, Indiana, the daughter of the late Edwin R. and Ellen Margarite Riedel Carey. She was the widow of Duane L. McClellan.
Also preceding her in death is one brother, Phillip Carey.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She was a retired teacher from the Ironton school system.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Chris (Adrienne) McClellan, of Lexington, Kentucky, and Ryan (Caitlin) McClellan, of Galloway; two grandchildren, William McClellan and Gillian McClellan, of Lexington, Kentucky; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, Dan (Theresa) Carey, of Ironton, Andrew (Linda) Carey, of Slippery Rock, Pennsylvania, and Paul Carey, of Ironton.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Monday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home, Ironton. Graveside service will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Calvary Cemetery with Fr. David Huffman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to The Parish Life Center, P.O. Box 499, Ironton, OH 45638.
