Dragons, Red Devils to clash with contrasting offenses

PROCTORVILLE — It will be offense vs. offense, but it’ll be more like finesse vs. power.
The Fairland Dragons will pit their passing game against the power running of the St. Clairsville Red Devils when the teams meet at 7 p.m. on Saturday in the Division IV Region 15 quarterfinals.
The Dragons (6-4) will take to the St. Clairsville artificial turf boasting a passing game led by senior quarterback Joel Lambiotte (6-2, 190) and a plethora of weapons surrounding him.
St. Clairsville (10-0) will counter with a huge offensive line and the running of senior Brady Kolb (5-11, 245) who has 115 carries for 1,447 yards and 24 touchdowns on the season.
Senior quarterback Dustin Carrothers (5-11, 79) is 44-of-88 passing for 943 yards with eight touchdowns and just one interception.
The top receiver is senor Craig Bober (6-3 170) with 18 receptions for 309 yards and three touchdowns.
The offensive line features massive freshman Avery Henry who is 6-foot-7, 320 pounds and is already getting attention from dozens of Division I schools including Ohio State, Michigan and Michigan State.
Other linemen are senor Trey Delguzzon (6-5, 265), senior Chase Espen (6-1, 270), and juniors Austen Angus (6-2, 240) and Ja’von Lyons (6-2, 300).
The Red Devils’ defense has allowed just 13.7 points per game and is led by senior linemen Colton Skukan (5-10, 205) and Justice McCamick (6-0, 215) along with senior linebackers Luke Watt (5-9, 162) and Kyle Storer (6-0, 160) as well as Kolb.
As for the Dragons, Lambiotte is 153-of-238 for a 64 percent completion rate. He has thrown for 2,370 yards and 27 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
Besides his passing, Lambiotte has 74 rushing attempts for 605 yards and 11 touchdowns to make him a part of 80 percent of the Fairland offense.
On the defensive side, Lambiotte plays safety and has 69 tackles put a quarterback sack.
The top receiver is sophomore Gavin Hunt (5-11, 150) who had 37 receptions for 679 yards and five touchdowns. Junior Reilly Sowards (6-2, 160) is next with 49 catches for 635 yards and 10 TDs.
Junior Brennan West (5-8, 145) has 15 receptions for 292 yards and four scores.
Leading the defense is junior defensive end Blaine Cremeans 6-0, 180) with 109 tackles — eight for a loss — plus a sack. He has forced two fumbles and recovered two.
The top offensive lineman is senior Jacob Rankin (6-0, 290) who is a four-year starter at center and team captain. He has 55 pancake blocks in his career. Defensively, the lineman has 41 tackles.
Another key defensive player is freshman linebacker J.D. Brumfield (5-9, 180) with 103 tackles — three for a loss — plus one sack and one interception.
Junior running back Michael Stitt (5-8, 155) has 76 carries for 549 yards — a 7.2 yards per carry average — and five TDs while catching 41 passes for 510 yards and two scores.
