Gary Stout

Dec. 7, 1934 — Nov. 19, 2018

Gary Clayton Stout, 83, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2018, at Harbor Healthcare in Ironton. Gary was born Dec. 7, 1934, in Ashland, Kentucky, to Eugene and Bryda Barber Stout.
He graduated from Ironton High School in 1953. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Air Force and retired in 1975. He went to work for JC Penney in Columbus, and retired from there 20 years later. He was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Ironton and was also a member of the Lions Club. He enjoyed studying history and volunteering at the Lawrence County Museum and Historical Society.
He is survived by his wife, Gail Meeks Stout, of Ironton; two sisters, Barbara Stout and Caroline Stout; son and daughter-in-law, Dave and Stephanie Stout, of Pensacola, Florida; daughter, Bryda Herd, of Grapevine, Texas; stepson, Brad May; stepdaughter, Debi Jones; four grandchildren, Lyndi Stout, Bryce Stout, Allie Herd and Logan Herd; and two step-grandchildren, Jeremy Jones and Ryan Jones.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Larry Stout; and his first wife, Pam Gee Culliss.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodland Cemetery with pastor Wayne Young officiating. Military graveside rites will be provided by VFW 8850. Visitation will be 10-10:45 a.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Harvest for the Hungry food pantry, 120 N. Eva Corvin

Nov. 26, 1935 — Nov. 20, 2018

Eva Jewell Corvin, 82, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018, at Harbor Healthcare. The Ironton native was born Nov. 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Henry and Ruth Owens Stormes. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Eugene Corvin, whom she married on Oct. 16, 1953.
Eva attended Dawson-Bryant High School and was a former cook for the school, where she retired after 23 years of service. She was also a member of Jeffersonville Missionary Baptist Church in Coal Grove.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four daughters, Becky Turley, Margie Patton, Cindy Morgan and Eva “Sis” Turley; three sisters, Naomi Cunningham, Jane Gore and Patty McClaskey; and two brothers, Pete Stormes and Mike Stormes.
She is survived by a daughter, Penny Corvin, and her daughter, Misty Corvin, of Coal Grove; a son, Thomas (Terri) Corvin, of Ironton; a sister, Donna Mae (Clifford) Gore, of Kitts Hill; three brothers, Tim (Donna) Stormes, of Murfreeboro, Tennessee, Jack (Jody) Stormes, of Coal Grove, and Steve (Pat) Stormes, of Ironton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Roger Pierce officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home. June Neal

Aug. 7, 1922 — Nov. 20, 2018

June Evelyn Neal, 96, of Ironton, made her way to live with Jesus on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2018. The Ironton native was born Aug. 7, 1922, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Otilda Cleary Steed.
June was previously employed with Betsy Ross Bakery and Tipton’s Bakery. She was a lifelong member of the R.L.D.S. Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed sharing her love for Jesus with others. She loved to cross-stitch and created beautiful pieces. Christmas was her favorite time of year and she loved to watch it snow.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence Steed and Jim Steed.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Paulette) Neal, of Holly, Michigan, and Ralph (Carol Dodrill) Neal Jr., of McArthur; two daughters, Karen (Phillip) Whitman, of Ironton, and Kathy (Curtis) Williams, of Burleson, Texas; one sister-in-law, Gloria Steed; seven grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery with Arnold Porter and Sharon Whitehead officiating.
