Morris, Scott key Redwomen win

PEDRO — Make it a combo.
Rileigh Morris and Makayla Scott combined for 35 points as the Rock Hill Redwomen beat Green 50-47 on Saturday and spoil the Lady Bobcats’ combo scoring of Kasey Kimbler and Kame Sweeney.
Morris had 19 points and Scott 16 to negate Kimbler who had a game-high 26 points and Sweeney who finished with 13.
The game was tied at 14 all after the first quarter.
Morris hit a 3-pointer and had five points while Kenzie Hanshaw got four of her five points in the first quarter for Rock Hill.
Kimbler had 3-pointer and scored six points and Sweeney added four points to keep Green even.
Morris caught fire and scored 12 points in the second quarter including another trifecta and Scott added four points to help give Rock Hill a 31-27 halftime lead.
Kimbler scored eight points as she made two baskets and went 4-for-4 at the foul line.
Each team scored 10 points in the third quarter to make it a 41-37 game. Savannah Cade hit a trey and Aleigha Matney converted a three-point play for the Redwomen while Sweeney and Kimbler combined for nine points.
In the fourth quarter, Scott score seven points and Kylee Howard had the other basket as Rock Hill held onto its lead.
Kimbler hit a trey and scored eight of Green’s 10 points with Sweeney adding the other basket.
Rock Hill hosts South Point on Monday and Fairland on Thursday. Green entertains Eastern on Thursday.
